Srinagar, April 12 -- Asha Bhosle died on Sunday in Mumbai at the age of 92, bringing to a close a long and influential career in Indian music.
She passed away at Breach Candy Hospital, where she had been admitted following a decline in her health. According to family sources, she was suffering from multiple complications, including a chest infection that led to organ failure. Her son Anand Bhosle confirmed her death, along with Maharashtra Cultural Minister Ashish Shelar.
Her last rites will be held on Monday at 4:00 PM at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. People from the film and music industry, along with admirers, are expected to attend and pay their respects.
