Srinagar, April 29 -- Apni Party president Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday questioned the administration over a 10-day drinking water crisis in a Batamallo locality, asserting that any people-elected government is expected to provide basic necessities to its voters.
In a post on X, the former minister said residents of Mir Abad Batamallo, including women and children, were forced to take to the streets to protest against the failure of concerned officials in ensuring a regular water supply despite repeated complaints.
"I ask the government a simple question: Should the people in Batamallo have had to protest in the streets to demand drinking water for their locality?" Bukhari said.
