Srinagar, May 18 -- Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari expressed grief over the demise of Haji Khazir Mohammad Sheikh, father of jailed Member of Parliament Engineer Rashid.

In a post on X, Bukhari said he was "deeply saddened" to hear about the passing of Rashid's father and prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul.

"May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah and rest his soul in eternal peace," Bukhari said.

He also extended condolences and solidarity to the bereaved family, especially Engineer Rashid.

"A father's loss is among life's heaviest sorrows, and such grief becomes even more painful when one is separated from family during such difficult times," he said.
