Srinagar, May 22 -- The Directorate of Horticulture Planning and Marketing (P&M) has issued strict directions to end alleged malpractices, including unjustified commissions and unauthorised deductions, at the Fruit Mandi in Sopore, officials said on Friday.

The action follows a formal representation from fruit growers accusing certain traders and commission agents of levying miscellaneous charges under false pretexts, official sources said.

Taking serious note of the matter, Director, Horticulture Planning & Marketing (P&M), passed instructions for immediate intervention, according to an official communication accessed news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS).
