Srinagar, May 25 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday hailed as "extraordinary bravery" the daring rescue of 300 tourists who remained trapped mid-air in cable cars at the famous Gulmarg ski resort, as the Army, police and disaster response teams battled odds in a six-hour operation.

In a post on X, the Lt Governor as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) said the nation salutes the disaster response forces, the Army, the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), and the district administration for their "valor and remarkable skill."

"The nation stands united in applauding extraordinary bravery of disaster response teams, who safely rescued 300 tourists stranded mid-air in Gulmarg's cable cars," LG Sinha said. ...
