Srinagar, May 16 -- The approval of the 800 TPD Integrated Solid Waste Management Project at Achan marks a major step towards scientific waste management and sustainable urban development in Srinagar.

The project is aimed at strengthening the city's waste processing capacity through improved systems for collection, segregation, treatment and disposal of municipal solid waste. It is expected to improve sanitation standards, reduce environmental pollution and support a cleaner and healthier environment for residents.

The facility will also help address the growing waste management requirements of Srinagar in view of rapid urban expansion and increasing population.
