Kargil, April 18 -- World Heritage Day 2026 was celebrated with enthusiasm and community participation in Kargil through a meaningful Heritage Walk organized in and around Goma village. The programme was held under the global theme "Emergency Response for Living Heritage in Contexts of Conflicts and Disasters," highlighting the urgent need to safeguard cultural heritage in vulnerable regions like Ladakh.
The event was graced by the Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Shri Rakesh Kumar, who attended as the Chief Guest and formally flagged off the Heritage Walk. Renowned Architect Fayaz Ali participated as the Special Guest and served as the guide for the walk.
