ANANTNAG, Aug. 16 -- A 26-year-old man died in a road accident at Thajiwara in the Achabal area of Anantnag district on Sunday, officials said.

The deceased has been identified as Owais Ahmad Shah, son of Mohammad Yaseen Shah and a resident of Shirpora, Anantnag.

Officials said Shah sustained injuries in the accident and was shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation.
