SRINAGAR, Sept. 28 -- Potable water supply will remain affected in several parts of Srinagar and adjoining areas on September 27 and 28 due to a reduction in raw water availability at key water treatment plants, the Jal Shakti Department said on Sunday.

According to a public notice issued by the Executive Engineer, Water Works Division Srinagar, a sudden reduction in discharge in the Sindh Power Canal by Power Development Corporation authorities has affected water flow in the S.E. Canal, impacting raw water supply to the Alusteng and Rangil water treatment plants.

The department said the disruption is likely to affect drinking water supply in major parts of the city during the two-day period.
