SRINAGAR, Aug. 21 -- United States Ambassador to India Sergio Gor arrived in Leh on Thursday as part of his visit to Ladakh.

Gor, who met Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Srinagar on Wednesday, flew to Leh after his flight was delayed due to adverse weather conditions.

Sources said the ambassador participated in a river rafting expedition during his visit. He visited the Zanskar-Indus confluence at Nimmu and undertook rafting along the stretch from Tsogti.

His visit coincides with the stay of Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama in Leh. However, there was no immediate information on whether the two would meet.
