Srinagar, May 17 -- Two tourists were killed and three people, including a local driver, injured when their vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Saturday, officials said.

A cab carrying tourists from Gujarat met with an accident on the Pahalgam-Aru route in the south Kashmir district, the officials said.

Two tourists, including a woman, were killed in the accident while three people, including the driver, were injured, they said.

The injured have been admitted to a hospital, the officials added.

Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha condoled the deaths and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured.
