Srinagar, May 8 -- Police in Kulgam, along with Revenue authorities, have retrieved state land measuring five Kanal and 12 Marlas in the jurisdiction of Police Station Devsar.
A police spokesperson informed that the land situated at Village Malwan (Khasra No. 697 min), was under "unauthorized occupation" of a drug peddler, Shahzad Ahmad Paddar of Malwan, who is involved in FIR No. 40/2020 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act. The retrieved land, in the shape of orchards, has an estimated market value of approximately Rs.1 crore, police said.
The retrieval was carried out jointly by Kulgam Police and Revenue authorities as part of sustained efforts to dismantle the illegal infrastructure and financial networks of drug peddlers, police said.
