SRINAGAR, Sept. 14 -- Bushra Naaz, a PhD scholar at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), has won an award at the National Bio Entrepreneurship Competition (NBEC) 2026 held in Bengaluru for her research on plant-based meat alternatives.

Naaz, who is pursuing her doctoral studies under the supervision of Dr Ajaz Ahmed Malik, Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ganderbal, was selected after multiple rounds of screening, mentoring, pitching and evaluation in one of the country's largest biotechnology entrepreneurship competitions.
