RAMBAN, July 23 -- Two persons were killed and five others injured after a shooting stone struck a passenger tempo on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) near Ramsoo on Wednesday, prompting a rescue operation by the district administration, police and Quick Response Teams (QRTs).

The passenger tempo (JK06B-9842) was travelling from Srinagar to Doda when it came under a barrage of falling stones at the vulnerable Gangroo stretch, causing severe injuries to the occupants.
