Srinagar, Aug. 11 -- Security has been beefed up across Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Independence Day, with security forces stepping up frisking, vehicle checking and surveillance in Srinagar and other areas of the Union Territory.

According to the details, security personnel have increased their presence at several locations and are conducting checks of vehicles and their occupants as part of preventive measures ahead of August 15 celebrations.
