JAMMU, Oct. 31 -- Minister for Transport, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, on Saturday visited Shiv Market near Jammu Railway Station to assess the damage caused by a recent fire that gutted several shops and affected the livelihoods of traders.
During the visit, Rana interacted with affected shopkeepers and heard their demands for financial assistance, rehabilitation and support in restoring their businesses.
The traders apprised the minister of the financial losses suffered in the incident and the difficulties involved in rebuilding their establishments and resuming commercial activities.
