SRINAGAR, Oct. 7 -- Light rain lashed parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, with the Meteorological Centre Srinagar forecasting intermittent showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds at several places over the next 10 days.

Weather remained generally cloudy across the Union Territory, while some areas recorded light rainfall during the day. The weather office said higher reaches could also receive light snowfall during periods of precipitation.

According to the latest forecast, weather is expected to remain largely dry on October 7, although a few places may receive brief spells of light rain.
