SRINAGAR, Sept. 24 -- Several parts of Kashmir experienced brief spells of rain, hailstorms and gusty winds on Wednesday as cloud activity intensified across the Valley during the afternoon.

Independent weather forecaster Faizan Asif Keng said cloud development was first observed over parts of north Kashmir before spreading to central and south Kashmir.

Hailstorms were reported from Sopore and other areas of north Kashmir, while strong winds were recorded in parts of north and central Kashmir. Several areas also received brief spells of rain, Keng said.

He added that light snowfall was observed over some of the higher reaches of Kashmir.
