SRINAGAR, Oct. 27 -- Srinagar Police have arrested two domestic helpers and recovered gold ornaments worth approximately Rs.45 lakh in connection with a theft reported at a residence in Khanyar, officials said on Tuesday.
The case was registered at Police Station Khanyar on October 25 following a complaint by Basharat Hussain, son of Gh. Qadir Gulzar, a resident of Miskeen Bagh, Srinagar, who reported the theft of gold ornaments from his house.
Police registered FIR No. 68/2026 under Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an investigation. Multiple teams were constituted to identify and apprehend those involved, using human intelligence and technical surveillance, police said.
