SRINAGAR, Sept. 15 -- Two suspected drug peddlers were arrested on Monday in Kulgam district, a police spokesperson informed.
He said during a vehicle search near Navyug Tunnel in the Qazigund area of the district, police recovered 17 grams of heroin-like substance from their possession. The suspects - Riyaz Ahmad Mir and Hanan Mushtaq - were taken into custody for questioning, he said.
A case under relevant sections of the NDPS act was registered against them.
Four more drug peddlers were arrested in Shopian, Anantnag and Sopore.
In Shopian, police arrested two drug peddlers in separate operations and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
