Srinagar, Sept. 27 -- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday lauded the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) teams for restoring eyesight to over 200 people in Kupwara district.

AFMS doctors carried out over 220 sight-restoring surgeries during a two-day camp near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district, an official spokesman said on Friday.

The sight-restoring surgeries were conducted during the 10th edition of a first-of-its-kind mega eye surgical camp, held under Operation Drishti, at an underground operation theatre in Tangdhar in Kupwara - a shelling-prone zone, along the LoC in north Kashmir on Thursday and Friday.

The LG governor described it as a remarkable achievement.
