Srinagar, Oct. 1 -- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said the Army is not only a force that defends the country from external threats, but also a source of support and healing for ordinary citizens in times of need.

Sinha made these in the closing ceremony of the 11th Mega Eye Surgery Camp organised under Operation Drishti, which marks another milestone in the Indian Army's healthcare outreach in Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing the gathering, he expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and commended the Indian Army for their dedication, an official press release said.
