REASI, Oct. 19 -- A 45-year-old woman was seriously injured after jumping from a window of her house upon finding her 20-year-old son hanging at their home in Baggodas village of Mahore tehsil in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, officials said on Monday.

The incident occurred during the intervening night of October 18 and 19, according to an official.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Farooq, son of Shabir Ahmed, a resident of Baggodas village. His mother, Basso Begum, sustained serious injuries after jumping from the window upon seeing her son, the official said.

She was shifted by family members to Government Medical College, Jammu, where she is undergoing treatment.
