SRINAGAR, July 12 -- Widespread rain and thundershowers lashed several parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday evening, prompting the Meteorological Centre Srinagar to warn of flash floods, mudslides and landslides in vulnerable areas.

Rain and thundershowers were reported from many parts of the Kashmir Valley and districts including Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Doda, Reasi and Udhampur.

An official of the Meteorological Centre said brief but intense showers accompanied by thunderstorms were recorded at isolated places, particularly in north, central and south Kashmir.
