Srinagar, July 22 -- The Meteorological Department has forecast the continuation of wet weather across Jammu and Kashmir till Thursday, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms over several parts of the Union Territory.

According to the MeT Department, the prevailing weather conditions could trigger flash floods in vulnerable areas, besides increasing the risk of landslides, mudslides and waterlogging, particularly in low-lying localities and along hilly stretches.

The department has advised people to remain alert, avoid unnecessary travel to vulnerable areas during periods of intense rainfall and follow advisories issued by the local administration and disaster management authorities.
