JAMMU, March 23 -- The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), in association with the Information Technology Department, J&K and Project Samagra Shiksha, School Education Department, J&K, has launched Mega Aadhaar Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) drive 2.0 across the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

The drive has commenced from March 23, 2026, in winter zone schools, while for schools in summer zones, it will begin from April 1, 2026, onwards. This large-scale initiative aims to cover 2,382 identified schools and provide Aadhaar biometric update services to over 2 lakh students of Jammu & Kashmir within school premises.
