Medical interns, resident doctors set Oct 9 deadline for stipend hike
Srinagar, Oct. 6 -- Medical interns and resident doctors in Jammu and Kashmir have urged Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Minister Sakeena Itoo to intervene at the earliest to resolve their long-pending demands for stipend revision, warning of fresh protests if the government fails to implement its assurances within the stipulated timeframe.
The MBBS and BDS medical interns said they remain hopeful that the Government of Jammu and Kashmir will honour its written assurance by October 9 and implement the promised enhancement in their stipend. However, they made it clear that failure to fulfill the assurance by the deadline would leave them with no option but to resume their agitation.
