Budgam, July 19 -- A man was killed after a tractor overturned in the Batapora area of Wathora in Chadoora tehsil of central Kashmir's Budgam district on Saturday, officials said.

The deceased was identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Hanjigund.

According to officials, Ganie sustained critical injuries when the tractor overturned while moving through the area. He was rushed to Sub-District Hospital, Chadoora, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated proceedings to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident, officials said.
