Light rain, thunderstorms likely over next few days: MeT
Srinagar, Oct. 7 -- Light to moderate rain lashed parts of Jammu and Kashmir over the past 24 hours, with Jammu-Chatha recording the highest rainfall of 53.5 mm, while the Meteorological Department forecast intermittent showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds across several areas in the coming days.
According to the Meteorological Centre, Srinagar, Jammu-Chatha received 53.5 mm of rainfall during the 24-hour period ending Wednesday morning, followed by Katra with 19 mm and Bhaderwah with 4 mm. Jammu city recorded 0.6 mm rainfall.
In Kashmir, Srinagar recorded only trace rainfall, while Qazigund, Pahalgam, Kupwara, Kukernag, Gulmarg and Konibal witnessed trace or no measurable precipitation.
