Leh, Aug. 18 -- Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Monday launched the official jersey for the 13th edition of the Ladakh Marathon, one of the world's highest-altitude endurance sporting events.

According to officials, this year's marathon will feature a prize pool of Rs.1 crore, with registrations reaching nearly 10,000 participants. The figure marks a significant increase from last year's participation of 6,521 runners.

The administration said the rise in registrations reflects growing interest in the event and its emergence as a major sporting attraction in the region.
