Srinagar, July 15 -- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday was briefed on preparations for the upcoming Chinar Book Festival and also met several public representatives and a social activist who raised issues of public and social welfare.

Dr Amit Wanchoo, Chief Convener of the Chinar Book Festival, accompanied by Shobha Kapoor of the National Book Trust (NBT), called on the Lieutenant Governor and apprised him of arrangements for the festival, scheduled to be held in Srinagar from July 18 to 26.

According to the organisers, the nine-day festival will feature participation of more than 200 publishers and book exhibitors from across the country, showcasing books in English, Urdu, Kashmiri, Hindi and several other Indian languages.
