Srinagar, April 13 -- Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad have expressed their grief over the demise of iconic singer Asha Bhosle.

The 92-year-old singer, who ruled Bollywood for over seven decades with her wide range of memorable songs, passed away on Sunday due to multi-organ failure at Breach Candy Hospital in south Mumbai.

"With Asha Bhosle ji's passing, the nation mourns a cultural icon whose timeless melodies will resonate in hearts for generations. From immortal songs & soulful ghazals to devotional masterpieces, her voice captivated millions across eras. My condolences to her family & admirers," LG Sinha said in a post on X.
