LEH, Aug. 27 -- Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena has approved the establishment of a dedicated Cyber Police Station in Ladakh to tackle the growing number of cybercrime cases, including financial frauds, online scams, identity theft and other digital offences.
According to an official statement, the Cyber Police Station will have jurisdiction across the Union Territory and the notification establishing it has come into force with immediate effect.
The station will function as Ladakh's centralised cybercrime investigation unit and will be responsible for registering and investigating offences under the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and other applicable laws.
