KTA seeks uniform enforcement of E-way bill for timber transit
Srinagar, May 16 -- Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology, Environment and Tribal Affairs Javed Ahmad Rana on Friday met several delegations representing different public interests and assured them of priority redressal of their grievances.
A delegation of the Kashmir Timber Association submitted a memorandum seeking uniform implementation of the E-Way Bill system for timber transit across Jammu and Kashmir.
The delegation informed the Minister that although the traditional docket system has officially been replaced by the E-Way Bill mechanism, some authorities continue to demand docket-like documents during transit, causing confusion, delays and operational difficulties for traders and transporters.
