SRINAGAR, Aug. 5 -- Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology and Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, on Tuesday reviewed the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and directed officials to remove procedural bottlenecks affecting the implementation of drinking water supply schemes across the Union Territory.

Chairing a review meeting at the Civil Secretariat, Rana stressed the need for timely classification and work-wise release of funds to ensure uninterrupted execution of projects.

He said efficient financial management is essential for maintaining the pace of works and achieving the objectives of the Jal Jeevan Mission, adding that funds should reach the executing agencies without delay.
