AWANTIPORA, Sept. 14 -- Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Vice-Chancellor of the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), has been elected a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI), one of the country's premier scientific institutions.

Established in 1930, NASI is the oldest science academy in India. The fellowship recognises distinguished contributions to scientific research and scholarship.

Prof. Romshoo will be formally inducted into the academy during its 96th annual session, scheduled to be held at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, in December 2026.
