Budgam, April 27 -- A leopard cub was critically injured after being attacked by locals in Kralnewa area of Khansahib in Budgam district, prompting wildlife authorities to launch a response and initiate action against those involved.
Following information from police, a team from the Wildlife Department reached the spot, rescued the injured cub, and shifted it for medical examination and treatment. The animal has been moved to the Wildlife Rescue Centre at Hokersar for specialized care.
Block Officer Wildlife Budgam, Bashir Ahmad told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that strict action will be taken against individuals involved in injuring the animal, adding that such incidents violate wildlife protection laws.
