Srinagar, Sept. 4 -- Jammu and Kashmir's infrastructure programme has reached a scale that demands both urgency and discipline. With 87 projects valued at nearly Rs 1.2 lakh crore, the region is attempting to reshape its connectivity through expressways, tunnels, bridges, flyovers and ring roads. Forty-four works worth Rs 39,711 crore are under execution, eleven sanctioned projects await commencement, and thirty-two remain at the DPR stage. The numbers are significant, but the credibility of this effort will be judged by whether sanctioned projects move beyond plans and into completed assets that withstand the region's demanding terrain and weather.
