SRINAGAR, Sept. 14 -- Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar on Sunday reviewed the security, law and order and crime situation in Baramulla and Sopore, directing officers to strengthen intelligence gathering and intensify intelligence-based operations against militants and their support networks.

According to police, Kumar, accompanied by Deputy Inspector General of Police, North Kashmir Range, Dr Vinod Kumar, visited Baramulla and chaired a security review meeting attended by senior district police officers.

Before the meeting, the IGP paid tributes at the Martyrs' Memorial at the District Police Lines, Baramulla.
