Humid weather to continue today; Chenab level rises after Salal Dam releases water
SRINAGAR/REASI, Sept. 2 -- Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness hot and humid weather on Tuesday, with light to moderate rain and thundershowers expected at many places, while water levels in the Chenab River rose in Reasi after four gates of the Salal Dam were opened to regulate increased inflow into the reservoir.
According to the Meteorological Centre Srinagar, brief spells of intense rainfall may occur in some areas, particularly in parts of the Jammu division during the early morning and late afternoon or evening hours.
The weather department warned that localised heavy showers could trigger flash floods, mudslides and landslides, advising residents of vulnerable and landslide-prone areas to remain cautious.
