Heavy rain triggers waterlogging in parts of Jammu; JMC launches clearance drive
Jammu, Aug. 24 -- Heavy rainfall on Sunday morning led to waterlogging in several parts of Jammu city, prompting the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to deploy Quick Response Teams (QRTs) and machinery to clear affected areas.
According to officials, water accumulated in Rajinder Nagar, Muthi, Patta Bohri, Lakhdata Bazar and Bantalab following intense rainfall.
The JMC said waterlogging in Rajinder Nagar and Patta Bohri was aggravated by construction material stored at sites where drainage works are being carried out by the Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED). Following public complaints, civic teams cleared the accumulated water and restored normal conditions within about an hour.
