Jammu, April 5 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Friday trapped and arrested a head constable posted at Police Station Thanamandi for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000.

The accused has been identified as Mohd Alyas. A case under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against him at Police Station ACB Rajouri through FIR No. 05/2026.

According to the ACB, the complainant had met with an accident near Shahdara Sharief on March 13 while travelling with his family in an Eeco vehicle. Several family members were injured and the vehicle was damaged.

Following the accident, FIR No. 26/2026 was registered at Police Station Thanamandi and the complainant's vehicle was seized during investigation.
