Govt approves Rs.10.22 crore Tribal Tourism Village in Poonch
Srinagar, Sept. 17 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved the development of a Tribal Tourism Village at Behri Qasab in the Mendhar area of Poonch district at an estimated cost of Rs.10.22 crore.
The project has been sanctioned under the Capex Budget 2026-27 and is aimed at promoting the region's tribal culture and heritage while strengthening tourism infrastructure and generating economic opportunities for local communities.
According to officials, the proposed Tribal Tourism Village will serve as a dedicated destination showcasing the unique traditions, lifestyle and cultural heritage of tribal communities in the region, while offering an additional attraction for visitors to Poonch.
