Shopian, June 5 -- Continuing its crackdown on illegal mining activities, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Shopian have seized five vehicles, including four tractors and a tipper, allegedly involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals from different areas of the district.

According to police, a team from Police Station Heerpora intercepted and seized three tractors and a tipper in the Borihalan area for transporting minerals without valid royalty documents. Following the seizure, FIR No. 47/2026 was registered at Police Station Heerpora under relevant provisions of law and an investigation has been initiated.
