Srinagar, Sept. 4 -- National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah on Friday extended greetings on the eve of Teachers' Day, describing teachers as key contributors to nation-building and urging greater recognition for their role in shaping future generations.

In a statement, Abdullah said teachers occupy a respected position in society and play a vital role in imparting education and guiding students towards becoming responsible citizens. He urged educators to continue their efforts in nurturing knowledge, values and character among students.
