Srinagar, April 30 -- The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir of Crime Branch J&K has filed a chargesheet in a fraud case involving false promises of land and government jobs, officials said on Wednesday.
The chargesheet in FIR No. 84/2022, registered under Section 420 RPC, has been submitted before the court of Judge Small Causes Srinagar against Bashir Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Astanpora, Tailbal Hazratbal.
According to investigators, the accused in January 2019 allegedly duped several complainants by promising them allotment of JDA land in Jammu and securing government jobs for their relatives. However, he neither delivered the land nor fulfilled the job assurances.
