SRINAGAR, Aug. 25 -- The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir of the Crime Branch has filed a chargesheet before the Court of Sub-Judge, Srinagar, against a man accused of cheating a cancer patient's family by promising medicines at discounted rates and failing to deliver them.

The chargesheet was filed against Afaq Ahmad Thug in connection with FIR No. 25/2026 under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

According to the EOW, the case originated from a written complaint alleging that the accused induced the complainant to pay a substantial amount of money on the promise of supplying medicines for his wife, who was undergoing treatment for cancer, at a lower cost.
