SRINAGAR, Aug. 11 -- Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Monday invited people, particularly children and youth, to participate in Independence Day celebrations and other national events being organised across the Valley.

Speaking to reporters at SKICC, Garg said preparations for the Union Territory-level Independence Day function at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar are underway.

"Like every year, the UT-level August 15 event is being organised at Bakshi Stadium. Arrangements are being made for parade contingents, cultural programmes and illumination of buildings in tricolour colours," he said.
