SRINAGAR, Aug. 16 -- The Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) on Saturday celebrated the 80th Independence Day at its Media Complex in Srinagar.

Director Information Shreya Singhal hoisted the National Flag and extended Independence Day greetings to officers and officials of the department.

Speaking on the occasion, she recalled the sacrifices of freedom fighters and highlighted the values of unity, democracy, integrity and national service associated with the country's freedom movement.

Joint Director Information (Headquarters) Dr Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Deputy Director Information (Public Relations/Audio Visual) Javid Ahmad Rather and other officers and officials of the department were present at the function.
