Srinagar, March 4 -- Restrictions remained in place in Kashmir on Tuesday as all the educational institutions remained closed and movement of security force convoys in the valley was cancelled in the wake of turbulent but under control situation.

A large number of police and paramilitary forces have been deployed in Srinagar.

Concertina wires and barricades were placed at all key intersections leading into the city.

Meanwhile, Police also registered a case against some media outlets and individuals here on Tuesday for allegedly circulating "misleading information with an intention to incite unrest" in connection with the protests against the killing of Iran's Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
